I do not know what to do to restore this.I do not have a windows 98 disk as it was loaded when I bought the computer. also I can not run defrag.

guys i have the same problem, i'm using windows98 and himen.sys is missing and i don't have a windows 98 cd plz somebody help and if i want to adjust my bios settings in the boot sequence there is no CD ROM there is only drive C & drive A which is floppy. How can isolve this using command prompt?

defrag? why would you want that.??? Anyways u have to reinstall ure OS.. ill add on more later

Try this... use a windows 98 boot disk if you cannot get to a ms-dos prompt on your PC. edit the autoexec.bat (type edit c:\autoexec.bat) and add this line if it doesnt already exist

path=c:;c:\windows;c:\windows\command;
