Solution/Workaround:

[1] Run each of the following from Start / Run:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

step by step:

copy: all of the above - click start - click run - type cmd press enter - right click in the black area select paste press enter.

Then [2]
Uncheck Enable third-party browser extensions in the advanced tab of internet options.

Worked for me . Error was related to IE not reponding when I entered a website and attempted to do a search eg : Secured website at work (ALDON) or at an public site like Amazon . Error was specfic to APPNAME : iexplore.exe AppVer 6.0.2900.2100 ModName : hungapp

Install Firefox, it's free. Install Firefox plugins NoScript and AdBlock and only enable what you need for each site. Most sites don't need full access to your browser and you will have less chance of getting a virus.

I also have received this error signature message and shutdown of the application when trying to down load. To correct, even at legitimate websites, I unchecked = Tools = Internet options = Advanced and then uncheck : "check for signatures on downloaded programs". This seems to have corrected that problemin this case. MS just recently issued an automatic update to signatures policies and that's when the problem started for me.

I was even getting this problem while not on line using Windows Explorer when I highlighted and tried to run a few video clips using Windows media player. The unchecking of: "Enable third-part browser extensions" also stop that problem.

Thanks for your help!

Good Luck!!!!

I just re-installed Win XP Home edition on my desktop and faced the same problem of IE7 crashing with the following error report - Error Signature; iexplore.exe; App version: 7.0.5296.0; Mod name unknown; mod version 0.0.0.0; offset 00000000. Uncheking the 'Enable 3rd party browser extensions" box solved the problem but I can't utilise any dowloaded toolbars as a result.

Ironically, the 3rd party browser extension is checked on my note book and IE 7 is able to operate without any error messages appearing. That's odd.

Go to internet options on your control panel, select the advanced tab & uncheck the 'enable 3rd party browser' box under browsing if you can't access from the browser.

I got a similar error:

AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
ModName: mso.dll
ModVer: 12.0.4518.1014
Offset: 0011eda5

I have MS Office Pro 2003, MS Project 2003, MS Visio 2003, and OneNote 2007. I read all the posts and none of them worked. I was getting this clicking on a link in an email that pointed to SharePoint. I had tried several possibilities and when I had just uninstalled OneNote 2007 and clicked the link again it worked. So OneNote has somehow tweaked the mso.dll.

Normally, my IE7 was working fine. But whenever I access a specific webpage, IE7 was crashing with following Error signature:

AppName: iexplore.exe   AppVer: 7.0.6000.16473   ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119   Offset: 00012a5b

To solve such kind of problems, please proceed as following:

Go to Tool >> Internet Option >> Advanced Tab:
Under Browsing node, Un-check " Enable third-party browser extensions" item.

It is working for me and I hope, it will also solve your problem.

Hi,

Rather than disabling Third Party Extensions it is well worth checking what ones you have installed, you can normally view these in C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files. I had this problem on a Win2K server and it looks as though it was down to the version of Adobe Flash Player I had installed. I went into the directory above, right clicked on the extension and removed it, I then downloaded the latest version from Adobe and the server seems to be much happier.

I'd check any extensions you have installed and remove any you don't need, and try updating those you do still need.

Hey guys,

I've been having constant crashes in IE on Win2000 different machines since update.

Just found this that *seems* to have stopped them.

http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/08/08/692437.aspx

1. Start Internet Explorer 6.

2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.

3. In the Settings box, click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK.

Now if someone can just tell me what Microsoft did or didn't do in this last Major update that caused this...

I'd also like to know what changing this value does in system exposure.
Thanks!

Are there any other ways to fix this error signature other than turning off "third party browser". I would like to use the ebay toolbar but find I cannot unless I turn "third party" back on.

Okay,
in XP
I did this
Properties of my computer,
advanced > performance>settings >Data Execution Prevention
ALLOW "Turn on DEP" for and browse to Internet Explorer.

So far so good.

This did the trick. But what is causing the problem? Did the Google toolbar turn this on automatically?

Ever since I installed XP Pro, I'm getting the mshtml.dll error whenever I try to run Windows Update or even hit microsoft.com. I tried disabling third-party controls, but that didn't do it. I had high hopes, since that seemed to work for so many people. Any other ideas?

There definitely is a lot of problems with iexplorer. The real problem lies in trying to find what part or what program causes it i think. For me, it seemed to be related to the windows media player files. I think from what I understand, ezula spyware may have a lot to do with it. The old versions have compatibility problems with explorer..so maybe try to uninstall ezula or download the patch to the newest version of it. Or unclick the third party extension. Run spysweeper, seems to be the most thorough one. That's all i can offer.

Iīm having troubles with Iexplore 6 SP1. This happens when working with Mapguide Viewer. Sometimes unexpected error in iexplore.exe closes the app and ask to send error to Microsoft.
Well, thing is there are serveral errors and it happens under Windows NT and Windows 2000. And it usually happens if the Internet Explorer Window is not a parent process, it happens when it is a child process. Being the MapGuide Window whit Iexplore opened as a parent, never get errors.

I attach some error with Windows NT 4 SP 6, Pentium II with 256 MB RAM

iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, winawt.dll, 0.0.0.0, 000065b5.
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, shdocvw.dll, 6.0.2800.1106, 000553c9.
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, javai.dll, 0.0.0.0, 0003f289.
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, kernel32.dll, 4.0.1381.300, 0003599d.
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, winawt.dll, 0.0.0.0, 000065b5.

This is the most frequently error:
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, ntdll.dll

After updated thru Microsoft Website the PC (with Windows Update), this still happens, but now cannot identify the dll that causes the problem, giving this error:
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, Unknown

Any help will be wellcome.

The unchecking Allow Third Part Extensions in the Advanced tab also fixed my problem in IE6.

I will make sure I post this on my office's tech board.

I was encountering the same problem with a module called winrx.dll.

Unchecking the third-party browsers enabled check box did the trick.

Thanks!

Hey Chris.

The unchecking Allow Third Part Extensions in the Advanced tab of me fixed the errors I have been getting. Thanks so much. I'm pretty upset though it's taken for me forever to just figure out how to reinstall damn IE. I also removed all my hotfixes and even the SP1a for XP prof. If it is spyware that has caused my problem I think they need to stiffen the punishment for looser who create viruses and spyware and such. They should be thrown in serious State prisons not whimpy "White Collar" prisons, long enough for Buba to have some fun with them. If I ever meet a hacker they are going to get some teeth knocked out by me. Damn loosers. Unlike hackers I have other things to do with my personal life than fixing my damn home computer. I have to vent. I have been working on this problem on my home pc for hours when I could oh lets say be spending time working, being with my family, studying, working out whatever. They should lock hackers up for a long time so that when they come out they no longer no anything about the latest technology and just go work at a fast food place and earn a hard living.

I have a solution to a similiar problem that might work for you. I recieved this error on a users machine.

AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 4.0.1381.298
Offset: 000327a6

Solution/Workaround:
Uncheck Enable third-party browser extensions in the advanced tab of internet options.

I noticed some spyware on his PC, so I ran ad-aware which cleaned up several items (and generally works on similiar issues), but didn't solve the problem. I suspect some part of a third party extension remained after using ad-aware. After this workaround, you won't be able to use things like google's toolbar, but at least you can use IE.

This problem popped several times for me also without ever even opening IE. 3 or 4 restarts later my system went into a continuious restart mode of it's own. How fun, anyway, for this particular system I had to replace the single RAM chip with another and all is better and better than before the problem even started. Bad Ram
