 Driver Problem? Post a Reply
From: Hugh on 03/11/2003
I reformatted a NEC Versa SX laptop and installed win 98se.
The problem I'm experiencing is that the screen display is centered in the middle of the screen leaving about a 2" black/blank area around it.

When I access Display Properties, it reflects that it's using "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter [VGA]." Also, the only possible selection for Screen Area is 640 by 480 pixels & only 2 Colors & 16 Colors are available.

Do I need to install another driver? If so, does anyone know how/where I can get this?

Thanks.

due to what you say about the graphics res being so low then you need to look at what driver came with the laptop in the beginning for the graphics. Goto windows update first and scan for updates, if any driver updates are there load these into your system, secondly look for your chipset driver CD that you should have had with your laptop...install these chipsets for your motherbard, you will need these in order for your hardware to function properly.
