Iexplore caused error in kernel32.dll Post a Reply
From: Rob on 03/02/2002
I get this message daily. Trying to close the message box freezes the system so i just move it to the corner of the screen and carry on. I have Windows Me and use Internet Explorer version 6. I went to Microsoft website and they seem to think its caused by McAfee anti-virus software, but i have my doubts about that. Can anyone help me fix this ?

I assumed that I had a corrupted or missing file so I tried to restore the computer to an earlier date (Me users will know what I'm talking about). It won't let me restore or create a restore point.

Thanks

I have windows ME and I also had gain and Gator and McAee. My problems started when I uninstalled gator and Gain and McAfee.
I purchased a disk from MS for IE6 and installed it but it still won't work. If anyone has any ideas please help.
Thanks

I went looking for an answer to this problem because I have experienced the same thing for the last 3 days.... exactly to the day since I downloaded McAfee's antivirus and firewall. I'm ready to scrap them if I can't figure this out :(

One of the problems that caused this error is the security update for ie5.5 and java scripting
the other is that for some reason the resourse restore function for used resourses is not working properly.
when the ie is used winme does not restore the resourses and when system drops below a certain resourse level ( 43% on my HP )the error starts ... very shortly after that the system will lock I accidently hit the wrong button on my keyboard and entered the wrong thing on the first entry >>
I am seeing if i can make a fix for this bug at this time ... Let ya know
