I have looked this up on Google, and have seen all kinds of answers. My problem is that I received the "windows root\system 32\hal.dll" message and everytime I reboot I keep getting it. So, I set the BIOS to CDROM first, and popped in the Windows CD, and nothing. I tried F8, F1, F2, still nothing. I have tons of files that I have to have. Please help me! I would really appreciate it. Please keep it simple as I am a new computer user. Thanks!

I HIT F8 GOT THE BLUE SCREEN AND THEN PC RECOVERY CAME UP AND I REDID PC RECOVERY AND IT WENT THROUGH THE THE ENTIRE RECOVERY PROCESS. I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE AND IT WORKED. I DON'T KNOW WHY SOMETIME WHEN YOU HIT F8 NOTHING HAPPENS, BUT EVENTUALLY I WAS ABLE TO RESTORE MY COMPUTER TO ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY DATA.
