I'm not sure if this will help, but after some researching, I've done this since I was getting the same error message with Nero CD burning software.

Do a search for all of the MSVCRT.DLL files on your computer (if XP, click Advanced Search and make sure it looks in Hidden/System folders also or the search will come up with no files found). Then hover the mouse over all of them that show up to see, the version number and the location. The newest one normally is in your C:\Windows\System32 folder, but it might not be so locate the newest version (highest number most of the time). You will probably find many copies of this file since each program you install usually brings its own copy during the install and puts it into its own folder, too.

Now in the Search window also, look to see if you have a copy of the msvcrt.dll file also in the AOL folder and write down the path to that folder.

If the file in the AOL folder is older than the newest one you have somewhere else on the harddrive, then first open the AOL folder where that file is located, then go to the OTHER folder and right drag and drop a COPY of the newest one onto the AOL folder. When asked if you want to overwrite/replace the older one, say yes.

Now try your AOL again. Hope it helps

Hey guys,I've got this problem on my brother's computer too when playing City of Heros. I've informed the CoH people on it but I'm not sure if theyre going to reply,so I'm doing it myself. In order to get rid of this,do I have to download something or update? I'm really impatient and now I need some solutions so I can play without interruption. It happens when I just play the game...then a message shows up saying it,and other times it doesn't show at all and I have to hit KB buttons until it exits. If you know what to do and have advice, please inform me ASAP. However,I would prefer any of you who know how to get rid of this by emailing me at JustinSord@austin.rr.com so I dont have to come back to this little forum. Thank You

Hi, I have the same problem before getting the Abnormal Termination while using AOL 8.0+, I updated the version and went through AOL 9.0 and samething happens, I talked to one of their Support Team and suggested to download the lastest version for JAVA, I did and it worked perfectly.
