: Follow these instructions, step-by-step:
: 1)Start computer
: 2)Hit F8 when you get to the windows screen as much as you can to get to the advanced startup option menu.
: 3)choose the option to start to command mode.
: 4)type:
: cd c:/windows/system32
: 5)type:
: ren hal.dll hal.bad
: 6)type:
: cd\
: 7)type:
: sfc/scannow
: 8)restart computer (control-alt-del)
: The system file checker should find that the hal.dll file was removed from the system and replace it.
: For any reason this does not work, post back and I will give you a bit more difficult instrutions on how to replace the file manually using the CD.
