Fatal Exception Error 00 at 0028:C1C471A5 Post a Reply

This error always occurs when trying to use the DVD-rom on my Win98SE.

Everytime I insert a DVD into the player, the screen goes
blue and the message "Fatal Exception Error 00 at
0028:C1C471A5 in VXD EXT2 (02)+00009DC5" pops up and the
computer goes dead.

Is there a simple solution ?

Thanks in advance

Hello Computerpilot,

thanks for your answer, but no, I'm not running Linux (only Win98SE) and I have no clue as to fixing this problem. But, your comment re other partitions... I've installed a second harddrive that was partioned with a program called Paragon Harddisk Manager. Could this be the source of the problem?

Where is 'Drakeman' when you need him.

My guess is you are running Linux as well as windows. If you are sharp enough to run this operating system, then I think you can get yourself out of this jam by yourself.

It sounds like you have windows trying to access a Linux partition.

I know very little of these things. Good luck.

Computerpilot.
