You can disable one thing by launching task scheduler, going to the advanced
options (on the toolbar) and selecting "stop using task scheduler".Open Control Panel / Display / Settings / General (or Advanced) and uncheck the
box next: "Show settings icon on taskbar"
Other stuff to check:
1-Items in the "StartUp" folder(delete/rename or move the shortcut)
2-from within a program itself/settings/preferences
(change to no load at bootup)
3-items in config.sys and autoexec.bat(rem out or delete)
All things below this line are dangerous without experience...
WARNING:If you have a pre-win95b version of windows then download the
updated
version of Regedit(around 103/104k)as the old one was useless and dangerous.
4-Load= and Run= lines in system.ini and win.ini files
(delete or place a comma before or after the equals sign
5-Seven keys in the registry:(try not to use this option
unless you are confident with the registry and make a backup of the registry

CAUTION: you should backup any system critical files before making any
changes.
