Here are my Fatal Exceptions :- 0157:000075CF 0177:717021AB 0157:0000633D 0177:BFF776FD 0117:BFF72830 018F:BFF83BEA 018F:BFF72830 0117:BFF7AGSF 0117:BFF77397 0117:BFF83BEA 0117:BFF83C17 0117:BFF83BEA 0028:C1A2E340 0028:C19E9960I was having the same problem as you guys, continuous blue screens on boot up. Sometime it would lock, before the icons would appear, sometimes it would continue and load up the icons. The system seemed to remain a bit fragile all the same. Computer setup is: Windows 98 OEM plus updates, AMD550 CPU, VIA chipset Motherboard, SoundBlaster Live, Graphics card - VideoLogic Video!XS Kyro 2, USB, 1394 Firewire card. I tried installing Mcaffee anti virus, but I couldn't get this to work, so then I installed Norton System Works. As far as I can tell this is when the problems started! Note also downloads of Realplayer, MediaPlayer, Quicktime, Video Editing software and Super DVD Player. Also installation of Adaptecs latest ASPI drivers, which I suspected for a while! Instalation of updated video drivers, and Liveware 3.0 for the Soundblaster Live. Tweak UI Here is my solution ..so far! Reinstalled Windows 98 ...This made no difference. Go to start run and type:- msconfig this opens the System Config window in which you can change the start up stuff that is loaded. Firstly have a look through the different parts to check what is checked and make a note of any that aren't. Now go onto the General TAB, and Click on selective start up. You can now deselect all of the items, so that none of these load in on start up. This at least lets you know if there are any problems related to these items. The most interesting part is the startup section, where you can see all the tasks that get run, you know the ones you can see when you do Cntrl-Alt-Delete and the Task Window pops up! You can gradually bring these back in one by one (rebooting over again ...groan) and so isolate which programs/tasks are causing the problem. It is useful to look at the System Information found in: Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools ...Click on Software Environment Running Tasks, and check out the pathnames etc. In the end I loaded back in most of my drivers. Tere seemed to be some conflict going on between the Video Card and the Soundard, they were both using the same IRQ and even though there was PCI steering on these, there still seemed to be conflict. In the end I disabled COM2(to free up the IRQ) Ensure it isn't being used by anything first I.E. is there anything connected to it, ir sometimes modems can be assigned to this.!! Go into Start-Control Panel-System, you can always re-enable it again anyhow. If you can manually change the IRQ on the device-properties-resources bit, then thats OK, choosing a free one for the Sound Card. I managed to free up two IRQ (COM1 as well), Not being able to alter the IRQ of the SB Live driver, I then deleted the driver for the Soundcard and also in my case the USB Driver,

The 0157:0000663D message HAS popped up once before the computer finished loading. Again, I hit the 'enter' key and it finished booting up, otherwise functioning normally. Hmm.

Deleting the printer didn't help, I'm still getting these error messages.: This might be caused by a conflict with the printer drivers. Try deleting all of the printers from settings in the start menu.

I've been getting a few of these similar error messages as well. The only ones I've jotted down are:0157:0000663D 0177:BFF83BEA 0177:BFF72830 I only noticed these starting yesterday after I installed a new CDRW drive and Nero. However, I also installed a printer a few days before, though again I didn't get blue screens till yesterday. I haven't tried a Windows reinstall yet, the bluescreen errors only seem to close the current program, not crash all of Windows with it. The computer still functions just fine after the blue screen, though I usually reboot. The blue screens only pop up occasionally, I've noticed it come up most frequently with Nero. Even with Nero, it only comes up on said occasional basis.

This might be caused by a conflict with the printer drivers. Try deleting all of the printers from settings in the start menu. Then reinstall the printer using the updated windows 98 drivers from the manufacturers website. Do not use the self install utility. I'd also reinstall the sound drivers, using the updated versions and the patch listed on the microsoft website.
