Vicky:

I have no idea what software is causing your error message. However, it is a unusual software that you have recently installed on your computer. Probably something that not many people use. It is also possible that it is some type of odd freeware/shareware.

You may try to do a search for a file named after the 'VxD' part in your error message on your hard drive. This might clue you in to what program it is.

If you figure out the program, you can troubleshoot the problem.

The Cyrix processors have been know to create lots of problems. In college, I had a few friends that had used them in custom built computers and we always had problems with running the processors at clock speed. They would always overheat.

Microsoft recommends that you contact Cyrix for a fix but I believe that your processor is running too hot and you might consider a K6II upgrade or a better cooling fan.

This is probably what is causing both your error messages but I would start with the processor problem and see how stable your system runs after the upgrade (sidegrade).

FYI - most K6II processors can be purchased for less than 50 bucks. Also, they run a little faster and are more tollerant to heat. Most motherboards that take Cyrix processor will also take a K6II. You could even run a faster K6II chip in the same motherboard and get yourself a nice upgrade!

If you need any further help, please feel free to post.
