This error message was on the screen saying the application will be terminated and to press any key or to press ctl, alt, delete to restart the computer. I can't get pass this error. I have windows 98 and a pentium processor system. Can this be fixed without me loosing all my data and other programs. My computer also will reboot more than once on it's own after doing the ctl, alt, del. I t still doesn't get pass the blue screen with the error message.

I have this same error message. It does the same thing. It tells you to hit any key but you can't get out of it.You have to pull the plug on the computer to shut it down. When it starts up again, scandisc gets to about 85% then tells you it is searching for crosslinked files. It happened after I defragged to about 50%.The next day when I turned it on this is what I got(starting in the screen that has the safe mode and other settings.)If it is the bad ram that was suggested,What do you do,just replace the ram?any sugestions would be helpful.Does anyone know of a site that has a listing of fatal exceptions?

Taylor,
The OE error on bootup can possibly be bad memory. I'm not sure in your case since the pc reboots itself but normally the OE error at 0167: points to a hardware issue and in my case, it was the memory.
