When you accidentally add a word to Firefox's automatic spell checker, it's a little hard to get rid of. Here's how to find the file containing all the added words.

You have to edit a file called "persdict.dat", located in the mozilla profiles folder where things like your cache are stored.

You simply open the file in Notepad or other text editor and remove whatever word you don't want in there. One word per line in the file.

In Vista it can be found at:
%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.default
- or -
C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.default\

In XP it can be found at:

In Mac OS it can be found at:
~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/xxxx.default/

In Linux it can be found at:
~/.mozilla/firefox/default/
