On the advice of a supposed computer expert/co-worker I uninstalled the os on my computer after it had been attacked by viruses. Before I uninstalled it the sound worked fine. After I reinstalled Windows XP, there has been no sound whatsoever. I called Altec Lansing for help since it's their speakers I have but they said it's a Microsoft issue. I have no idea what sound card or driver I have or had installed. What do I have to do to get sound back ? As you can see I am not computer literate so if you can put it into layman's terms so much the better.
