I have 2 different hp comps with similar crash syndroms.
Just before each crash there is a very loud "shrieking" sound from my speakers and when i unplug the damned thing and restart it my hard drive is empty...
No, its not a virus, i have antiviral and firewall software installed.

Both comuters use the home edition of windows xp preinstalled by hp.
One comp carries the name "pavillon 471" and the other is a "pavillon 750".

Does anyone have even a clue wich part is broken.
I have run diagnose programs "pc-check 5,02" and run tests on the cpu, memory, hdd and graphicscard with no errors found.

Appreciate all the help i can get.
