Error C0000005 occured in module OLE32.DLL at addr Post a Reply
From: Rob on 06/11/2004
Having downloaded the latest AOL 9.0 Optimized SE program, the program cuts off in the middle of any benign operaiton (it seems), about twice a day, moving into that anoying AOL Auto Restart thing. I copied down the details of the GPF from the DETAILS button. Cany anyone offer any help to stop this very annoying problem. It's only a matter of time before, as I'm typing page 9 of an email to my girlfriend, that the thing shuts off as stated; losing all that work. AOL has been useless so far in helping out. PLEASE HELP. Thanks. ROb

You lot are lucky, lol, I can't even get to the sign-on screen before I get booted off with error C0000005, and the ridiculous Auto-Restart then refuses to let me actually STOP restarting. The only way I can stop the endless loop is to hit Alt/Ctrl/Del and end the process. How such a long-established company such as AOL can carry on 'getting away with it' and STILL manage to con enough innocent folk into parting with their well-earned cash for one of the poorest 'services' there could ever be, I will never know. If the so-called techs can't even understand the system, how are we supposed to? I was recently even hung up on by a gentleman of Indian persuasion who plainly couldn't be bothered to try and understand what I was saying ( now THERE's a novel change)
Enough ranting, I apologise, but no, I have no idea what the answer is, either, lol.

i am getting booted off aol every time i attempt to send an email with any embedded graphix, or any type of attachments. this is day 11.
i have contacted aol countless times. always get an excuse, or the same old line to do the exact same stupid things repeatedly, which never works. it's getting so bad that even reading emails i get booted offline...i have done everything imaginable short of rebuilding my pc. i finally decided...why am i paying for a service so completely full of flaws, errors and unquailfied tech support? all i get are lies, runarounds and headaches. i have been a member of this sad isp for over 9 years. do they care? no. with all the other isp's out there why i ask are we still paying to be treated like crap?
i wouldn't allow any other company to mistreat me or take my hard earned cash for any service i can not use ha;f the time. why do we allow aol to? i have called them used thier "online help" and i have been treated so poorly by these idiots it's unreal. i have called and emailed them and never get america online only india overseas. and yes i am not making this up, the last 11 people i have spoken to have said they were IN INDIA. so let's review. we pay $$ american money to a company "called" America Online. who then takes our money and fires American people to hire Over seas people. these people then pretend to be tech support for US. they have no clue what is going on. and we still deal with them. we ATTEMPT to call AOL for help. are we ever actually helped by aol? i know i am not. i am however treated horribly. i have software on my pc i use more than aol, and i never have issues or need to reinstall this, but aol which is improving, cough cough, needs more fixes or reinstalls than ANY OTHER program i have ever seen or dealt with.
good luck getting these problems fixed...
me? i quit. as of today, i cancelled my account.
did they care?? no.
some other person will pay them for crap software, crap service and crap tech support. until....we ALL cancel and look for a isp we demand quality from. i personnally am sick of tossing my money out the window.
take care.

I have experienced the same problem with the same version of AOL, except at address77527B1D. It often happens when I click on a new email or try to send a post on a message board. (The email disappears and usually winds up in the "old" mail folder before I have a chance to read it.)

I've tried several AOL autofixes, changing my access numbers, accelerating my hardware, clearing my cache, temporary files, etc. Nothing helps for very long.

I have the same error problem but different module and address. I very seldom an able to finish my daily puzzle before a crash with error Coooooo5 displayed. I also think it's AOL because I never had it untill upgrading to latest version of AOL. I've talked to the tecks but they don't seem to have a clue. They try to blame it on microsoft!
