on boot, mouse cursor jumps to taskbar and doesn&# Post a Reply

When I start up Windows 2000, the mouse seems to work fine (as least for log on). At one point in the startup though, my mouse jumps down into the taskbar that displays across the bottom of the screen (and into a spot where the buttons for an open window or application would display). I can't get it back up into the main window area. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, but no help.

This is a recent problem and I had no problems before. I haven't installed any new software, to my knowledge. Norton says I don't have any viruses.

Mouse pointer jumps across the screen and system locks up--
a problem I have had for many months and not found the REASON

My cure is to use Ctrl+double right click
or Ctrl+double left click

this does NOT always work

The system seem to go walk about for a while and eventually returns

Using XP home
