Explorer does not close. The dialog box remains in view. When I close it, it reappears. I cannot access program accesories. I can use my computer while dialog box is running. The keyboard cannot respond to the dialog box. Has anyone seen this before?

I am having this problem too. I cannot send email using OE, and this interferes with programs like Clipart. This error even came up when I tried to download latest version of MSN Messenger. I had some spyware, which I cleaned up using Ad Aware and CW shredder. Still have this.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. I getting desperate.

i had the same problem... googling didn't work... so what i found was that a virus infection was the case. If ur running windoze 98 or xp,
try running msconfig and disable the svcinit.exe command. after that, go to safe mode and run a full system scan with the latest antivirus definitions... after that procedure, my client's pc was as good as new and the explorer was once again free to be used... hope this helps... greetz
