I just fixed this problem with my monitor. it is the same model as the ones listed. check CTR distribution cable to the mainboard. (has a tendency to corrode after about 8-12 years) contact me if you have any further questions. Bradford.Bowman@bowmanserver.sytes.net

PS be careful this monitor puts out 7000-18K Volts on the CRT discharge panel. Nice little jolt. Amps about .8-2.3 so it could kill you. if grounding is near the heart.

I also have a broken Compaq MV720 Monitor. It was dead after a month of use. It has no blinking light but makes a ticking sound. The problem with all of these monitor's is with the low voltage power supply. There is a defective transformer that chops the low voltage very fast to produce 15,000 volts. This is the reason why the green LED blinks on and off. There is no high voltage to run the picture tube. It must be serviced by someone who knows how to repair these monitor's. If you can get a schematic that would be great. I think Compaq has some problems with producing quality products.
