on my desktop i have a shortcut to great downloads and i dont know how to get rid of this!when i click on it it says disconnected so it can be used to connect to something which i have not tried because it costs Ł1.50 a min!!!how do i get this away off my computer i dont want to use this to connect to the internet someone please help me kxx

sounds like spyware may be installed as well - download adaware or spybot - both free from download.com and scan your system and remove when prompted - lavasoft's adaware is easiest to use but use both for best results -

settings/control panel/add,remove programs
select program from list and remove.
restart puter.
