Fatal Exception at OE 0028:00000000 Post a Reply
From: Krissy on 10/23/2003
Every time I insert a disk it gives me the blue screen with the error message "A fatal exception has occured at OE 0028:00000000.Please press any key ro continue and terminate the current application.Press Crtl+Alt+Delete to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved information in all running apllications."I know that normally on other computers they're something like a D drive but on here it's the F drive and I think the person who built this computer temporarily disabled it from readin the disks.I crashed the computer 4 times in 2 months because I didn't know what I was doing and he said my cam, mic, speakers, and media player wouldnt work but i hooked them up and they work fine without any problems.I'm wondering if theres somehow I can fix it.Thanx. ~Krissy~

I'm having the same problem too!!!!!!!!

On inserting a CD I get the blue screen of death as described above. I have Adaptec Easy CD on here and wondering if it's that but I have tried all sorts - played around with registry, msconfig, startup commands, win.ini, system.ini, downloaded and used 1000's of virus/problem removers (I recommend HijackThis and Adaware6.0). I've got rid of countless other problems during this process (which is nice!) but this problem persists. Problem is that I cannot use the cd drive to re-install stuff so i'm a bit trapped!!

Cannot find much on tinternet either - somebody help!!!

Seriously, if anyone reading this knows the solution please let me know:

matt@smokin.freeserve.co.uk

I will happily post the answer if and when i find it!!

Peace :)

I get the same exact error message when I try to print. I am running Windows 98 SE with 512k RAM. The application that I am using is Microsoft Picture It and I am trying to print to a HP 952C deskjet printer. Anybody have a solution to this problem?

I get the same error when running dxdiag (DirectX Diagnostic Tool) or Viewing certain AVI files.

Krissy,
I've been experiencing the same error messages as you have when loading a CD. Was wondering whether you resolved the problem and what steps you took to correct it.
Thanks In Advance
