My antivirus program ID'd a trojan file, descr Post a Reply
From: Mary on 09/05/2003
I'm running Windows98 and using eTrust EZ antivirus. If eTrust can't delete a virus or worm, it reports it, and this the report:

Windows\system\PCIJTQG.exe is Win32CoreFlood.16 Trojan

I'm wondering whether I should try deleting this, and if so, whether to go into the System folder to do it, or use the feature for Installing/removing programs. Any other suggestions?

WRITE DOWN THE NAME OF THE VIRUS AND GOTO http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/tools.list.html, THERE YOU WILL FIND TWO LISTS OF VIRUS REMOVEL TOOLS, THEY BOTH ARE THE SAME LIST, ONE ON THE LEFT IS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER, USE THE ONE ON THE RIGHT, WHEN YOU FIND THE RIGHT ONE DOWNLOAD IT, THEN CLOSE ALL OTHER PROGRAMS AND RUN THE REMOVAL TOOL, THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT, ALSO DO A LIVE WINDOWS AND ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE UPDATE.
