SmartPlugIn Fault Report: Drive LITE-ON LTR-24102B Post a Reply
From: Pete on 08/03/2003
The error is:

The SmartPlugIn Fault Report:
Drive LITE-ON LTR-24102B-Bad Serial Number is reporting. Partition percentage use has reached 90%.

Then prompts "OK"

This fault report appears at start up and occassionally while using the computer. I click "OK" and continue with my computer work.

Does anyone know what I should do about this error report?

Thanks,
Pete

If I were to make a guess...each of you has a maxtor hard drive. That program that was mentioned...system agent...is a drive reporting software that runs in the background and usually reports on hard drives. I dont know why it reports on removable drives or dvd/cd drives but apparently it is. You can uninstall it for its just a monitoring software or you could go in and disable the report when partition exceeds 90%.

I went to the BBS site for BUSLINK,the makers of the DVD drive I bought. No help there. They referred me back here! Don

I've got the same problem. My message is from Lite-On, the maker of the chips in the DVD burner I just installed. The message shows up on startup and during other programs. I'd like a solution too. Or at least to know what the message means. Don

This message comes from a program called System Agent, which you can find in add/remove programs in the control panel. It's made by systemsoft. I don't think it really serves any useful purpose and I removed it and now I don't get those messages anymore.

Did anyone get a reply to these questions? These messages are pissing me off and I'd like to get rid of them!
Indeed, I get two messages, one after the other.

I'm having a similar problem with my indiDVD drive. The message that I get is "Drive TDK DVDRW0404N-03042300 is reporting partition use hasexceeded 90%". I do not have RAID on this machine, but I do have a Promise ATA133 card, with two hard drives attached to it, as I use this machine as an audio project studio.

I get a near similar message for my DVD Drive made by AOpen
SmartPlugin Fault Report states:

Drive AOpen DVD-1640 Pro-2001/08 is reporting: Partition percentage use has exceeded 90% Just a hunch but does this have anyting to do with my recent configuration of C drive to a Promise Chip RAID controller for mirroring?
Are the others having this same error set up as a RAID for their C Drive? My DVD is connected to the primary IDE as my HDDs are on the RAID controller.

I am also getting similar error message!

Drive LITEON DVD-ROM LTD 163D-Bad serial number is reporting: Partition percentage use has exceeded 90%

Then it prompts for OK. It disappears when I click OK but reappears several times while using other programs.

Please let me know how to get rid of this error!

Thanks.
