Msgsrv32 caused an illegal operation and must be c Post a Reply
From: Spock on 07/03/2003
When I start Windows 95, I get a message saying that the program "Msgsrv32" must be shut down, so I clicked the details and it said that it caused a segment not present fault in module <unknown>. I clicked on the "close" button, and no windows programs started up. I just see the background wallpaper and themouse cursor. When I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, it brings up the close program box, and there are no programs there. Somehow, once, I playeed around with the keys and the Task Manager program came up and I was able to use it to run Explorer.exe, but I don't really know how to get the Task manager back up or fix the Msgsrv32 program. Could somebody help me? My computer is a pentium 200mhz and has 32mb RAM.

hold down the F8 key while it boots to go into safe mode, then you may be able to replace files or fix what's wrong - look for things that start up
