Hey guys,

I just had this problem (Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:6F02C6AC). It started when I updated my VuhDo addon (like healbot because I am a noob).

Long story short, I deleted it and it's working. I presume it has something to do with the new raid frame Blizzard has released with 4.0.1, so if I were you I'd try removing any addon from your Interface/Addons folder that would have any sort of connection to raid frames.

Unfortunately I can't give you anymore help, but it could be one solution.

Upsilon, Momentum

I get this error every now and then while playing World of Warcraft, or rather, trying to start it up. I run Windows XP, though I'm not gonna go through the trouble of posting all my specs.

If you're running World of Warcraft, run your Repair.exe and let it filter through the first portion (I usually do Check Files only). After that, it seems to work fine most of the time. Other then that, restarting my computer seems to work.

Hi, I have the same issue with the warcraft game. all the directx 3d tests also fail when you have this issue.
i have found the cause of the error...
the access violation means that when the game/graphics card tries to run it tries to access a section of the memory allocated to another piece of hardware, then it is then denied access.
the way to sort it out is to:
run the msconfig command
select selective startup
uncheck the 1st and the 2nd options
select the "services" tab
check the "Hide All the Microsoft Services" box
then select disable all
then apply the changes
then restart the pc
then try the game... abrakadabra.. it runs...

i think there is more to this... i haven't figured out the rest yet.
i still need to isolate the specific hardware/software the causes the access violation.
i also think that the sharing of the IRQs by the graphics card and and the other softwares is the cause.
i can not assign my graphic card to another IRQ at the moment until then this is the best solution.

Let me start with...I was running a P4 1.7 cpu with 640 ram and a radeon 9200se video card. (Everything Normal)

I have since upgraded to a P4 2.6 cpu with 1.5 ram and a Geforce FX5700LE video card. Now i get the error #132 while playing wow and the game closes, however its not wow the other game i play BattleField2 also closes authough i do not get the error, the game just closes.

I am confused and been working too long on this with no progress on fixing the problem.

Please help :(

I got Error #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Exception: 0xc0000005 (Access_Violation) at 001B:806073F0
The instruction at "0x806073F0" referenced memory at "0x806073F0"
The memory could not be "read"

That is the error i got when playing World of Warcraft. I play would of warcraft on 512mb RAM fine but i lag so i got another stick of 512mb of RAM and put it in the other RAM slot on my motherboard and i got the error, so i took out the new 512mb stick and just left the one stick of RAM in and it worked fine. So i bought yet another stick of 512mb of RAM and put it in and got the error again

So in conclusion, i have two RAM slots and i can have one stick of RAM in either slot without the error but if i put another stick of RAM in at the same time then i get the error. The error only pops up when i play games but if i am just browsing the web then i wont get the error.

Everyone,

I am really thinking this is the RAM. I have re-installed OS, used different OS (Media Center and Xp Pro VL), and have the AMD 3500+. Firstly, I'd like to honestly say that this chip SUX!!! My GW Laptop with an Intel P4 3Ghz mobile chip smokes this PC, which is 2 years newer. This PC that i am having the problem on is also a gateway, but I didn't put the ram in, and it is off the shelf cheapo. I should mention that I rebuilt this machine thinking that Media Center was the problem, but this issue will also be caused when running the SIMS2. I have 3 other machines that run WOW without ANY ERRORS AT ALL. I built 2 of them, with 3GB of GOOD RAM in them. So it is not the game. It is either the AMD Crap Chip (3500+) or the RAM ...period!

I should also mention that I have tried this with Cedega and Linux as well, and the same error occurred under Linux on the same hardware. I cannot buy new RAM right now, but I am 99.999% positive that it is the memory. The BIOS update may be a viable solution, but if your bios is current, thats not the problem ;)

All you guys talking about running hacked versions should be ashamed of yourself. Since yer too cheap to pay for the game, obviously we can concurr that you are too cheap to get decent ram.
BUY the RAM. You'll thank yourself...
Trust me, Ive been a systems engineer for 10 years.

i have had the same problem..., i have a cracked version of the game. I own both a cacked version and original version. Have tried both.

The computer is brand new, I have had warcraft TFT running for about 1 month, at least 50 hours of solo and LAN play. All of a sudden, when ever I click on LAN game now, it get the same error. I was never getting this error before, and I dont understand how this error could be happening all of a sudden.

Things to note:

1. We played over the net using KALI 2 successfully for couple of times, then the problem occurred.

2. I have tried installing all software with no luck.

3. Cant be bothered reformatting, but surely that would fix it?

Yea i get that some access violation crap.....as far as i have seen, since i keep moving forum to forum, Everyone has this damn bug, everyone has different pc specs..... so that does not seem to matter, its the software through and through, i love WCIII TFT dont get me wrong, BUT THIS IS F(&%*&! annoying. Blizzard is not offering and f(*^(! help on this at all, they say the same crap over and over again, "its your ram, its your system configuration, re-install" a bunch of noobie pc technicians that just cant say "I dont know what the hell is wrong with your machine/game".....WTF. They dont care because they are busy with WOW, so they could care less, even though they f*&%*! that up to, aka Black Plague incident. Its their software, and they need to fix it, now. Thanx Blizzard.

Hey, I'm getting this error also, running on a...

Windows 98
533 Mhz
32 MG SyncDRAM
128 KB L2 Cache (66 Mhz System Bus)
8.4 Gigabytes in the hard drive
3D AGP graphics (4mb Video)

Ok, I make it to the Cinema... as soon as the cinema finishes and it is about to let me gloriously play the game, I get the
Fatal Error:
program C:\Prgramfiles\W3\War3.exe
Exception! 0x0000005 (Access Denied)

I'm thinking access denied is Copy Right. I did have a burned copy of W3 (which didn't let me get in to it at all) previously installed on my computer. But, now I own it and it still won't let me play. Although the cinemas are entertaining to an extent, I WANT TO PLAY!!!!

I've done it all, up to changing my registry (which I wasn't too happy about)

Please help!!!

There is a fix to this problem but unfortunatly it is illegal. the problem lies in blizards copyright protection. i discoverd this when i finaly bought a

copy of wc3 and wc3TFT.
Just to give you an idea of the system i had when i first discoverd this problem;

OS=win2kPro
RAM=512
Video card=ATI Radeon 8500
Sound card= Phillips 5.1 psc60x
System board=Asus a7v333E
Processor=AMD XP 1800+
Hard drives=Two IBM-DPTA-372050

Now first of all i F@#$ing hate software (butt)pirates. so don't even think im an activist or some S**t. I'M NOT!! so with that out of the way here's the

scoop.

My friend kept telling me about WC3. Now Im mostly a FPS kind of gamer so i was kinda sceptic. finally he burned me a copy of it. I had never seen a RTS like

this the graphics were AWSOME! and the A.I. was even better!! I played it day and nite untill i beat it. i told my friend how sweet it was. The next day at

work he gave me The Frozen Thone. He said it took him hours just to find a way to burn it.
Anyways, after i beat that i went out and bought a REAL copy of WC3 and TFT. I unistalled and TRIED to reinstall with my legit copy; WC3 installed fine but

TFT crashed on the first atempt(the second worked).
I tried it out for a few hours and suddenly i got the "FATAL ERROR!" we are all plagued with. At first i thought it was my system but i tested everything and

nothing was wrong. The problem became more and more frequent. This REALLY PISSED ME OFF BLIZZARD! cuz i paid for your game and now it wont even WORK

RIGHT!?!?!?!?!?

(ok im done venting)

so i decided to start fresh and reformat my hard drives and start fresh. This didnt help either (with the legit copy) after a few weeks i had the same

problems. so on a hunch i unistalled and reinstalled using my friends software and my cd keys. i havent had a problem sence.

SO in short (sorry should have told you this earlier) the problem isnt with the game but with the copyright protection. the copyright protection is what

makes wc3TFT basicly unplayable.

I also have attempted every single thing I have been able to muster up. Nothing has corrected it. I have tried it with and without the patch, downloaded the tested version of my video card driver, changed the sound acceleration on my DivX (which is version9), ran the program in 98 mode as well as with the -opengl, checked my memory for bad sticks, played with all other functions off, changed the name of the movies folder to blah, etc. etc. etc............

I own a legitimate copy of this software, yet the good people at Blizzard keep telling me to do the same things to fix the problem. Has anyone else corrected it by any other means yet?
