MSWORD creating Unhandled exception error Post a Reply
From: Daddio on 05/21/2003
I have had this problem for a while now.

Whenever I try loading MSWORD on my Win2000, first a pop up box with the following message:

Winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE
Winword will now close.

and then when I hit Debug, this shows up:

Unhandled exception in WINWORD.EXE: 0xC0000005: Access Violation

I looked in the archive and seen something similar by removing delfin or something, but I searched my PC and have nothing of the sort.

Can anyone help please? :)

Try to remove the users profile, that fixes some of the winword.exe craches.

It is not worth messing around trying to work out exception errors, simply go to add/remove programs in control panel and select office2000. Click on remove word, the system will then remove word.
After this reboot, the PC and click on add/remove programs and add word again, this should solve the problem.
