From: Nik on 03/06/2003
Hi,

I get a lot of crashes in WORD 2002. I am connected to a networkprinter but also have local printers.

Errors are :
dw.exe - application error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d). click on OK to terminate the application.

or
WINWORD.EXE - Application error
The instruction at "0x0538b1bb" referenced memory at "0x000f3f08". the memory could not be "written". click ok to terminate the program.

MS technet does not help. can't get an exact explanation on this problem. Please advise ! thanks

go to safe mode click start > run and type "msconfig" and click the "disbale all" button under the start-up tab and clcik apply and click close and restart the computer. if that solved the issue, try to check things back one by one until you see whats causing the problem and keep it disabled.

I was having this problem as well, with Office 2000. Try heading over to office.microsoft.com and updating to the most recent service pack; this fixed my problem.
Hope this helps!

We are getting the same thing. In the even log, we get id 26. Here are three examples. We get them on all 10 of our metaframe xp servers, so I don't think it's a physical RAM problem.

Application popup: Time Off Calendar - Microsoft Outlook: OUTLOOK.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x3a43b877" referenced memory at "0x00cef000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

Application popup: OUTLOOK.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x3a48fb97" referenced memory at "0x80030013". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

Application popup: Inbox - Microsoft Outlook: OUTLOOK.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x3a43b877" referenced memory at "0x01108000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

Any help would greatly be

ok you need to look at the memory side of things, if you are at work get your I.T. guys to reseat the primary memory and also test the memory while they have it out of the pc, they could also try some new memory to, this could also be linked to the file called pagefile.sys.

Get then to remove the file and then re-instate it but besure to reboot the pc in between the process.
