This is the error message I started getting the other day, when I attempt to click on someone's email address to send them email, from a website. It also says beneath this: The specified module could not be found.
This used to not happen, it just started happening the other day, not sure what's changed internally in my PC?? The top left of the error box that opens, when I click on the email name says: Rundll then the error message then the module stuff. Help?

When getting an error like this, check you account settings, make sure they are correct. If they are then the next thing to look for is your antivirus program, is it configured to scan your incoming and outgoing mail.If it is, then make sure you have all the updates available for the antivirus, Take nortons for instance it has liveupdate for it definitions and engine updates. If those are all done and it still a problem. Try to see if you can access you box via a telnet session or if you have webaccess, use that instead. Delete the first email in the mailbox. As this sometimes can get corrupt and would stop activity on your mailbox and this should resolve your problem

I was having the same problem too. After reading Pam's reply I tried changing the settings and it seems to work now. Click "Tools", "Internet Options", "Programs" and then select Outlook Express from the Email drop down tab.

Same problem here. Just started happening about two weeks ago. I run Xp with a wireless router and everything worked fine before. I think msn must have changed something in hotmail. I also cannot pick up my excite mail even from the website. I get the error message there that java and cookies have to be enabled....and they are. I have changed not settings at all! Very confusing. Both these situations happened around the same time. Was there a windows update around the same time? That could be another possiblity.

I always get the same problem. I use a Hotmail account, but I can't install Hotmail on Outlook 6.0 because hotmail has no pop3. Do you know how to get this? I'd like to select HTML, but I don't have this kind of choice.

To fix this :

Launch IE
Then go to tools> Internet Options> and Programs Tab
Choose the correct email program like : Micosoft Outlook and apply.
This should correct the issue.

I don't have a solution because when I posted the question on Computing.Net I get advice to either repair I.E.6 or change the Hotmail in the registry, so I am still baffled. All I know is every time I click on an email link on a web page, the error message comes up and I see "rundll" in the status bar.

I am getting the same error message. There must be someone out there with a solution to this problem because I'm fairly sure this isn't something new since more than one person is getting the same error message. Anybody?
