Too many possiblities, not enough information. If you have a file named Advert.dll in C:\Windows\System, rename it.
In addition, you might try an SFC. This will replace any missing or corrupt system files in Windows. Go to RUN and type:
SFC /scannow
You will need your install disk.
If you have crash guard, you should uninstall this. Disabling it will not do the trick. This software has been known to be buggy with Windows.
