Too much running in the background Post a Reply
From: Brian Johnson on 10/23/1999
WIN98 - pressing CtlAltDel even just after startup shows about 20 (yes twenty) applics running, mostly unnecessary. This hinders troubleshooting other problems since I have to "End Task" ech individually. None of these running apps seem to be in Startup Group - how do I stop them starting every time the PC is started? Repeat - they are not in the startup folder - HELP!

This applys only to Win98 or a very late edition of Win95.

Go to start menu>program files>accessories>system tools>system information
the program will open
click on the tool menu then system configuration utility ...the last tab is start up...check what you want to start and uncheck what you don't want. click apply then reboot.
You might want to look around a bit in this program it will help you alot.
