Mac freezes and crashes when going to a web site.

My daughter is unable to open any website. Her Mac crashes and she has to shut down, and leave it off for about three hours. Then when she logs on to the internet, she can get her mail, but can not look up anything in the net without it crashing. I'm writing, because she can't get on. This has been going on for a week. Does anyone have a solution, please? Thanks

Sounds like you need to re-install the web browser. I have also heard of people who have had problems after "trying out" AOL and then removing it. This may apply to any other "offers" of online services that screw with your internet settings. You may also want to contact your ISP and see if they have any ideas.
