Computer crashed out of memory Post a Reply
From: Frogg on 01/31/2000
my brother just brought home a used computer from work. They said when the computer guy tried to download a program it crashed. Said the memory was full. We have been trying to get in to delete some of the memory but can't. it has win.98. not sure about anything else. any help would be appreciated.

P.S. He said everything is in good condition no hardware problems???

Try starting it in safe mode.

Hold down the F5 key (Windows 95) or the Ctrl key (Windows 98). Click OK in the Desktop dialog box indicating that Windows is running in Safe Mode.

A lot of stuff doesn't load under safe mode and it might let you take some files off the hard drive or whatever you want to do.
