I get the above message after windows loads, and after I click on the "ok" button in the MS networking. I have a cable modem AND I just installed another NIC card to network two computers. The second computer is undergoing repairs, so it's not hooked up to the hub. The cable modem is hooked to it's own NIC in my computer. (read two NICs in one computer one in the other)

I'm noe too sure the addition of the NIC and its software is the problem but rather a coincidence. The Blue screen allows me to continue with the windows load, and the only real noticable differance is none of the start up group programs load. The box next to the clock is empty. Normally the box has a number of things there. I tried loading the start group programs manually and they seem ok.

Many of the other replies to posts recommend reloading windows, what method do you recommend? ie. boot disk to a DOS screen? The computer is a year old and running the original windows installation. Celeron 300A clocked to 450, 64 ram, Abit BH6 MB, Genoa Vraptor and Monster voodoo 2 pass through 3d card. The system has been relatively stable and I've checked the cooling fans, so I doubt its heat related. Any help is appreiated.

Aloha, Colin

I had this same problem when trying to turn on file sharing. I finally solved it by disabling my antivirus software. I also found the following work around on the Microsoft site: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q244/2/29.ASP?VOTE=2
