Packard Bell Bootable Disk Post a Reply
From: Lorri on 03/17/2000
I reformatted the hard drive on my Packard Bell Platinum XI and to my horror I don't have the CD or diskette to boot up!! I bought it from an Estate sale and have no way of getting the bootable diskette or CD. I don't even know what kind of operating system it has. I have Windows 95 but all I get when I turn it on it is "Insert bootable media in appropriate drive(or something to that effect." Help! What do I do?????

: I reformatted the hard drive on my Packard Bell AMD K6 2 model L1202C and I lost the CD or diskette to boot up getting the bootable diskette or CD. I don't know how to get the bootable disk or driver download. I have Windows 98, and my video and sound card on motherboard are not configured corectly.

I suggest you buy the Windows 98 CD or Windows 2000.
Installing one of these should solve your problems, however you might need to take a trip to Packard Bells webpage to download a uncommon driver or two, http://support.packardbell.com click on the downloads button and follow instructions if you have to. Windows 98 might just find all your hardware and install it for you automatically.
