Ok, you have windows 98. Here is a few things that I would check out that would give you a similar error message:Do you have a K6-2 350mghz processor? If so, then you need to update your VMM.VXD file to a new one. See Microsoft's KBA article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q256850
Do you have a Matrox video card? If so, then you will need to download an update for your card. See Microsoft's KBA article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q253241
Have you done a recent hardware change? A recent hardware change is most likely causing your error message. If you have, attempt to reinstall old hardware and see if you get the error message. If not, then you need to contact the hardware manufacturer with the issue or check their website for fixes or updated drivers.
Feel free to post back with questions or further assistance.
