: I have recently installed a new hdd in windows 2000 on secondary master with my cdrw as my secondary slave. Often when I am in windows and the computer tries to access the new hdd (6 gig ide) I can hear it starting to cycle and then the whole computer locks up and the only way to get out of this is to hold down the power button for a while until the pc is powered down. Ctrl-alt-dlt does not work and I have been trying various things to fix it with no avail!

TNT2 M64 compatible graphic card
20Mb h/d
2 intel nic Pro 100+ pci and Pro 10+ pci
