system locks up when playing 3d games and sometime |

i have an athlon 1ghz w/ 256 ram, 40 g hd, geforce2 gts, soundblaster live. it locks up when playing 3d games, mostly, and sometimes(infrequently) it will lock up on the internet(especially on animated pages). i just recently replaced the hd, and it locked up on windows registration about 10 times! i had all the same problems before, though, so it's not the hard drive. it's very mysterious, because one never knows what will cause it to crash- once it even locked up on screen saver(scrolling marquee)! somebody please help!

Man i have the exact same setup as you except with 128 ram, a 650 athlon and 1 60gig hd and i get the same freezes in 3d games on sometimes when i'm on the net.
