I am running windows 98 SE. I have tried to upgrade to Windows XP but have encountered numberous problems. I tried installing Office XP Standard but I receive the error "A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C004D620 in VXD VFAT(01)+ 0000B648" Does anyone know what this is caused by.

You can run SFC on windows xp..... sfc /scannow ......... you give some bad advise.

You can run SFC on win XP. Obviously you don't know much about XP.

One can search for proper answers at www.google.com , Type FATAL EXCEPTIONS, and click the Search. Many unanswered questions found there. I have W/98 SE. and would never upgrade to W/XP. you can not run an sfc on W/XP. Wish you Good Luck.
