Over the years I have installed and removed many programs in Windows95. I know I never got all of the files associated with all the deleted programs because I have very limited space on my computer. I just want to start over with a re-install back to the original condiotion of my computer. How do I crash my computer and re-install Windows? Please help with step-by-step instructions.

For Windows XP, start, notepad, and type in "Start [line break] start [line break] start [line break] start [line break] crash.bat" without quotes and hit enter for each of the line breaks without actually typing [line break]. be sure to name this file "crash" without quotes and save in .bat format to the desktop. open it up and your computer should crash. hope this helped!

You could download a Linux "live CD" that also does an install and let it format your entire disk, then when it's clean do what you want.I think what you really want to do is set in your BIOS to start from CD ROM first, then insert whatever OS disk you want to use, Linux or Windows, and do a new install. I do suggest installing Ubuntu Linux so that you don't have all the problems with viruses etc... But that's up to you.

ii need to know how to crash my lap top please i use it for work and i need to know.... xander12391@yahoo.com ...NEED TOO KNOW how to crash with vista because i think that alot of them dont come with the widos disk or the start up disk or what ever its called...kuzz my friend bought the comp ..that i sued to have same moddle and his dident come with the disk ither abd he bought his bran new....

I think the answer is to insert your windows CD and do a full install again. Then install only the stuff you need.Spyware? Try "adaware", it's free and works pretty good. Search for other free programs that remove spyware.

you don't crash the computer, you reformat the harddrive and reinstall windows for a frest start.
