Using a HP Pavilion computer with Windows 98, Internet Explorer 5.5. Get "A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:C001545A." followed by "A fatal exception OD has occured at 0246:0114747FB." This usually happens when going to a different web site. It has never happened when running a windows program (Word, etc.) or playing a game(Free Cell, etc.) H E L P ! ! !

Guys & Gals - This is a McAfee problem. Some people do have luck if they disable scanning (and sometimes task scheduler) while online. Unfortunately it DOES NOT eliminate the problem completely. The VXD in question is a McAfee VXD and it remains loaded even when disabled and it still causes problems on occasion. Your only solution is to complain to McAfee or remove the program completely.

: Arnold, Martha - I also have a Pavilion w/98SE and see the exact same thing that Arnold desribed. It happends very erractically but only when surfing the web, just as Arnold said. No one give you any clues? I am running McAfee and I see someone is advising to disable this, but I find it hard to believe this is the problem or advisable.

: : Arnold, did you ever receive any useful follow-up to your 6/11/01 question? I have the same problem, exactly, on my PC in a Windows98 Second Edition environment.
