: My computer crashed, it has periodically froze and we would shut down and start up and it would work fine. This is a hp demo model that we got at sams. we have had it for about two years. The last time it froze we shut down and it started a black screen that said it was looking for windows 98 operating system and it was looking for drivers and it pulled up two paragraphs of info then the cursor was stuck blinking below these lines of info blinking and we could not input anything into it. by the way there were a few strange characters here and there around the screen.
