Freezing on many Programs and web pages Post a Reply
From: Mel on 07/19/2001
My PC (Advent, 300 mhz P2, 4Gb HD, Windows 98, IE5) has statred to freeze regardless of what I'm doing, it could be a graphics program, a web page, or ICQ or anything it freezes constantly and I have to do a hard boot. The processor fan seems to be making a louder noise than usual, could this be anything to do with it???

Mel,

Take a look at my answer to the above question. Your system sounds like its older so you may have an impending hard drive crash as well. Try running scandisk (thorough scan, not files or folders) and see what it tells you when it's complete.
