: it should start ok. This appears to be caused by
: a corruption of the normal.dot template file. On the system I had the problem with, the user had tried to open an attachment from its location on a hotmail account instead of downloading it first to their system and opening it from the local machine. Hope this helps

I already tried deleting all occurances of normal.dot, and error message still appears. I unnstalled and uninstalled office 97 but this did not work. All the other office programs are working fine.

Please help.
