I am having a problem with Windows Me, in that Windows will not start at all. It is giving the following message: The following file is missing or corrupted: c:\Windows\ifshlp.sys.

It gives a similar "missing or corrupt"message with respect to vmm32.vxd.

The best advice I've gotten seems to be to format and install another OS, but when I attempt to do this at the C:, it continues to give me the same message...that the particular command I've typed in is "missing or corrupt". How do I format the disk?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
