The San Jose area is great for picking up some hobby or prototyping stuff! This list will help you NOT waste time when you take a trip up there. This list is a compilation of info from several trips, with my personal comments. I look for mostly surplus stuff at good prices. Anyone can buy retail stuff from a local electronics place, or Radio Shack for that matter. There are also two GREAT swapmeets close by, and those are listed. When you see "RETAIL" - that means one of those stores where things are all packaged in little bags, with a price tag (and normally over priced by my standards). These are in order of what I consider the best first. Some phone numbers may be out of date, since I visted most of them personally, and didn't call. If you E-Mail this file to yourself, the HTTP (HTML links) may turn into clickable links. I printed this out and carry it with me on the trip. The stuff at the end are to be inserted later, more work to be done....
